Introducing Siecap’s Newest Principal Advisor, Peter Holmes

This edition of our employee spotlight series features Peter Holmes, one of Siecap’s newest Principal Advisors.

Originally from Townsville, Queensland, Peter began his professional life as a mechanical engineer, with an aim to work in the automotive industry designing cars. After a few years working for Toyota, he set his sights on bigger things and returned to UQ to attain his Masters in Aerospace Engineering, receiving a NASA scholarship to research scramjet technology. From there, however, Peter pivoted into management consulting, working with  Ernst & Young and KPMG on business strategy, performance improvement and transformation projects, all the while attaining his MBA.

Peter’s career then transitioned from consulting into corporate roles, leading strategy and transformation programs with enterprises including RACQ, Suncorp, Virgin Australia, Cleanaway and the University of Queensland. Peter’s role at Virgin Australia involved managing the enterprise-level transformation of low-cost-carrier Virgin Blue into the rebranded full-service airline, Virgin Australia. Peter’s roles at Virgin Australia and Cleanaway included establishing and leading enterprise Portfolio Management Offices.

Now, Peter brings his powerful analytical mind and broad project management skill set to the Siecap team, helping our clients grapple with the birds-eye view that’s necessary to manage their intricate and multifaceted supply chain projects. As our enterprise-level PMO expert, Peter loves working alongside Siecap’s diverse and inspirational clients to help them solve interesting and challenging problems and achieve visible, tangible results that have real effects on industries and people’s lives.

Outside of work, Peter works to practically impact and serve his community through his church, even stretching outside his comfort zone to perform in the regular Christmas productions for the past few years! As a car fanatic, he loves spending the weekends going for drives out to the Queensland countryside to take in the wide-open scenery.

Siecap is extremely grateful to have Peter on the team and values the contributions and insights that he provides our clients massively.
