Industry leaders meet to discuss the digitisation of supply chain in an Amazon era

On Thursday 30th November, specialist project management and advisory firm Siecap hosted a supply chain industry breakfast forum at The Raddison Blu in Sydney.

Attendees, including representatives from organisations such as: ToyotaTransport for NSW, Gerard Lighting, CSR, Miele, Pacific National and Ingham’s, came together to discuss current eCommerce themes, the recent arrival of Amazon in Australia and the impact it will have.

The event followed the Siecap breakfast in Melbourne last week, where delegates heard from Jonathan Reeve and Geoffrey Knowles about winning strategies for eCommerce as Amazon launched in Australia, the overall market view, and the effects that digitisation will have on the future of supply chain.

Cross fertilisation of innovative industry ideas also took place at the breakfast forum in Melbourne. Siecap enjoyed facilitating discussion between the attending organisations to bring new ideas from other sectors with different industry players.

By way of example, Siecap recently arranged a working session between BHP and Toyota to further explore improvement culture, where senior executives looked at true innovation initiatives and potential focus areas for organisations or boards.

“Thank you for a wonderful event last week. It was good to hear from fellow industry leaders and get an update of current and future issues. These meetings are invaluable and I would definitely be interested in attending an eCommerce meeting in Sydney,” said Charles Kim, Manager of Supply Chain Kaizen & Systems at Toyota.

Siecap would like to thank our valued clients for attending and contributing to the success of the exclusive session.

“The breakfast forum was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate and exchange ideas around the future of Supply Chain Consulting with an impressive range of talented individuals,” said Siecap CEO David Irvine.
